- The Nexus Wireless System costs $24.99 plus a $5 monthly subscription fee for the geofencing technology.
Nexus’ HA4000 scanner has its own internal mobile phone inside the device to communicate the location of the device to the geofence post. This unique feature makes the Nexus Wireless Fence system compatible with all smartphone devices -- not just with iPhones.
Nexus Wireless Fence also alerts you automatically when the person wearing the device has moved beyond the fence post. With AirTags, you must constantly check to see if a person has wandered away. No notifications.
AirTags require someone with an iPhone nearby to communicate their location.
GPS tracking devices work poorly indoors, are expensive to own, and are built for tracking things instead of people.
Finally, Nexus Wireless Fence is a healthcare device specifically designed for people, not for items, pets, or cars.

Yes. The contact tracing device is always monitoring location information to ensure the person wearing the device is always inside the geofence. Inside the fence, updates are uploaded to your secure account once per hour. Outside the fence, location updated are uploaded to your secure account once per MINUTE.
Wherever cellular service is available, the device will continuously update and track the location of the device.
Our initial product has an accuracy of 500 meeters.
Our product comes with the HA4000 scanner and the HA4000 fence post. The person monitored wears the scanner and the fence post is mounted at a designated entry post, e.g., next to a front door or the door leading to the backyard.
The HA4000 scanner uses Bluetooth technology when your patient or loved one is indoors and cellular data when they have moved beyond the safe zone. The Bluetooth iBeacon works like a lighthouse beacon to locate an item. The RSSI (Relative/Received Signal Strength Indicator) measures the approximate distance between the HA4000 scanner and the fence post.
Once the scanner locates the wireless signal emitted from the fence post, the scanner will continuously measure the strength of the signal. The signal strength is then converted into a distance measurement to determine the approximate location of your patient or loved one in relation to the fence post.
We recommend that your loved one or patient wear the scanner externally. The lanyard attachment can be used to wear the device around the neck. Alternatively, the user can use the device clip to attach the scanner to a belt or cuff.
Your tracing device can identify and locate either a group or an individual based on major or minor values, which are assigned to specific locations or individuals based on the size of the target. Major values are used to distinguish a group, such as a certain floor or a room in your facility. Minor values are used to identify an individual. Your device will be able to locate both individuals and designated regions.
If you are taking care of more than one individual who needs assistance, then you will need an additional HA4000 scanner and HA4000 fence post for each person who may wander beyond your safety zone.
When the distance between the HA4000 scanner and the designated fence post goes beyond 3.3 feet (1 meter), the scanner will send alerts to your smartphone every 60 seconds in two ways:
- Text and/or email the patient’s proximity to the fence post
- Give an approximate location on Google Map
To verify notifications to your smartphone, simply do the following:
- Hold the scanner within 3.3 feet (1 meter) of the fence post
- Wait up to 1 minute for the scanner to flash a blue LED light
- Wait up to 5 minutes to receive an email and/or text notification
Yes, the device can be switched on and off whenever you choose.

Verizon wireless.
Nexus Wireless Fence is compatible with all smartphone devices.
The HA4000 scanner can store data for up to 24 hours. The scanner will also show a solid red LED light if the device hasn’t been connected to a cellular network in the last 24 hours. We’ve included these unique features in our scanner so that it successfully operates even with non-ideal cellular coverage.
We recommend that the scanner is put in an area with sufficient cellular coverage by the end of the day to ensure that the data is sent to you as soon as possible.
When the scanner’s battery power goes below 25%, the LED light will flash red. At least 25% battery power is sufficient to accommodate a full day’s use.
If your loved one or patient leaves the designated tracing environment for any period of time, the battery life can get depleted due to the increased signal emissions. In this event, we recommend charging the device to ensure that the device can be used the next day.
We’ve built the HA4000 scanner to have a long battery life; the device’s battery life can last for up to seven days.
The scanner has a 5-year lifetime.
The scanner has a micro-USB charging port to fully charge the device in less than two hours using a standard (5V 0.5A micro-USB) charger.
The scanner is 2.8” x 1.6” x 0.8” in. (or 74 x 42 x 21 mm).
The HA4000 scanner is water-resistant but not completely waterproof. Please treat the scanner as you would most electronic devices.
We’ve built this scanner with rugged IP65-certified technology to make a durable, reliable device to support your caregiving needs. The dustproof, water-resistant scanner is easy to clean and sanitize. The scanner’s smooth design has minimal grooves or gaps to prevent dirt and other contaminants from surface buildup. The device can also withstand temperatures from -4° to 140° Fahrenheit.
